Kayaking among icebergs!
If you have been in Patagonia Argentina and think that you have tried everything, please answer: how did you feel kayaking on the Lake Argentino among icebergs from the Upsala Glacier? If you are not able to do it, you have to return to El Calafate and live your own experience with us!
The Upsala Kayak Experience is a full day tour, which starts at El Calafate, and allows everyone to kayak among Icebergs. It is not necessary to have experience on the activity and the technical equipment is included.
The excursion starts with the pick-up- very early in the morning- from the hotels in El Calafate and transfer to Punta Bandera port. Then, we start sailing the Lake Argentino (North and Upsala Channel) surrounded by outstanding landscape and mountains. In the meanwhile, our staff will explain the techniques of the activity and security measures.
Once we disembark, the guides suggest a warm up before starting our expedition on the kayaks. We paddle for 2 hours approximately (depending on weather conditions and physical conditions of the group) with the exceptional view of the icebergs from the Upsala Glacier. If you don’t have any previous experience on the activity, don’t worry about it: paddling rhythm will be slow and always thinking about groups’ physical level.
After the Kayaking experience, we all return to the boat, where lunch will be served (meat or vegetarian Sandwich + petit four + fruit + beverage). It takes 3 hours to arrive to the Port, and then the transfer to your hotel in El Calafate.
This is a unique excursion in El Calafate, which allows every passenger to live an exclusive experience with other 14 travelers and our staff. It is available from November till March, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
So now, the question is: if you are planning to go to El Calafate on your next trip, are you going to miss this amazing experience? We hope to meet you there!
