A snowshoe walk to contemplate the Aurora Borealis

There are things that you absolutely have to see at least once in your life. One of them, without a doubt, is the Aurora Borealis. First, one must find the best place to see the Northern Lights. Lucky for you, we know where that is. We’ve even designed an excursion around it. We invite you to witness this natural phenomenon in its entire splendor in the stunning town of Ilullisat.

Ilulissat is known for its landscapes as well as its unique location next to UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kangia Icefjord. Exploring this area will not only take us away from any light pollution from the town while enjoying this incredible landscape gratified by the best light show on Earth, as the Northern Lights dance all over your eyes, making your head spin with wonder.

Secondly, the nocturnal landscapes in Ilulissat are not just something to be seen but also to be felt. The magic begins after just a few steps, while you move away from the population to avoid the glare of the lights. Your snowshoes will provide you with the comfort and security needed to fully appreciate the experience you have just begun. Soon you will find yourself walking beside giant icebergs, under a bright, luminous sky. Imagine witnessing the Aurora Borealis with Disko Bay at your feet, while you savoUr the deepest silence and the purest air.

Thirdly, we must warn you that everything we’ve just described pales in comparison to what you will actually experience. So get ready.

We continue to enjoy the night’s show from our mountain hut, which is close by and gives us the luxury of a warm tea or coffee with snacks. Next, a bus will take us back to the city centre, while the Aurora Borealis will still be in our sights.

Also keep in mind that no experience is needed for this trip. Our team of experts will explain everything as well as take care of the logistics. You will have experienced qualified guides with you at all times. Itineraries with a heartfelt destiny

The Kangia Icefjord is not just an ice paradise. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 20 million tons of ice that are generated each day, give rise to some of the biggest icebergs on the planet which rise more than 100 meters above sea level. It is not surprising that the expeditions carried out in this place are truly incredible.

The dogs sledge highway, Sermermiut Valley, or Disko Island, are part of this unique orography, and can be seen and admired by following our itineraries.

Holmens Bakke, the famous place where the greeting of the sun is celebrated after the long winter darkness. And the settlement of Sermermiut, cradle of the first Inuit culture, are other destinations we reach.
