The Kangia Fjord snowmobile tour ascension

The snowmobiles will be waiting for us in Ilulissat. First, we will follow a trail made specifically for us. The frozen sea will offer its vastness and smooth surface as we ride into infinity. It’s impossible to ignore the grandeur of the landscape for the first time. Beyond the horizon Oqaatsut awaits. This authentic Inuit settlement only has about 40 inhabitants. Most of all Oqaatsut is made up of hunters and fishermen, who continue to live just like their ancestors did hundreds and hundreds of years ago. These people remain faithful to their cultures and traditions. Also, Driving through their settlement on the Kangia Fjord snowmobile tour allows an authentic and pure moment that can only be experienced in Greenland. If time allows it, we shall explore the settlement.

Be astonished by the amazing views of Kangia Icefjord and the Ice Cap.

We will return to Ilulissat by a different route so that our group will get to discover a different part of Greenland and ride by rocky cliffs. Contemplating the extraordinary scenery with its immensity will make us feel almost insignificant, in the best way possible. This trail allows us to get close to the giant icebergs and enjoy the perpetual snows of the Kangia Glacier which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Lastly, we will stop at the Akinnaq Ridge to get one final view of the city. Here we will relax and have something warm to drink while admiring the scenery. We recommend you take photos and ask a lot of questions! Connect with your environment and enjoy the Kangia Fjord snowmobile tour to the fullest.

Although the guided tour takes about 3 hours, experience is not necessary. Our expert guides will provide you with all the necessary equipment and tips to ensure your safety. In conclusion, have fun!

Out into the Immensity

The Kangia Ice Fjord is not just an ice paradise. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 20 million tons of ice that are generated each day give rise to some of the largest icebergs on the planet, they rise more than 100 meters above sea level. It is not surprising that the expeditions carried out in this place are truly incredible.

Our particular tour offers breathtaking views of Disko Bay and Diski Island, landmarks of this region. And it reaches Oqaatsut, an authentic Inuit settlement, where its 40 inhabitants, hunters and fishermen, continue to live in the same way as their ancestors, faithful to their cultures and traditions.

The surroundings of Ilulissat, crowned by rocky cliffs, are the perfect example of deepest Greenland, and another of the places that is included on our itinerary.
